What’s different here

Rainscreen retrofits

Many older Coast homes have siding nailed straight to the sheathing. A rainscreen gap lets walls dry.

Questions

Exterior repairs FAQ

How much does siding replacement cost on the Sunshine Coast?

In 2026, a full siding replacement runs about $18–$28 per sq ft of wall for fibre cement (Hardie), $20–$30 for cedar (shingles quoted separately), $15–$22 for engineered wood, $11–$17 for vinyl and $22–$32 for aluminium such as Longboard. That includes tear-off, new weather barrier, rainscreen, trim and flashing at every opening. Rot or sheathing repair behind the old siding is extra and priced as found.

What causes rot at the bottom of walls?

Usually siding too close to the ground or deck, missing kick-out flashing at roof edges, or failed caulking at trim. The fix is to correct the water path, not only replace the wood.

Do you do roofing?

We handle small roof repairs and flashing fixes, like a lifted flashing, a leak at a skylight or a few damaged shingles. Full re-roofs go to a roofing contractor we trust, and we can coordinate the work around your other exterior repairs.
